Daycare Updates 2024

In the pursuit of long-term sustainability for Barks and Recreation, we find ourselves in a position where we need to update our service prices. This adjustment is essential for several reasons:

• • To ensure that our dedicated team receives fair wages, keeping pace with the rising cost of living.
  • To continue infusing each dog’s experience with the time, care, and love that defines our craft.
  • Our cost of supplies has increased, and we do not want to compromise the quality of the products we are using.

We are embracing the fact that we are not like other daycares, and moving to an enrichment-based day school model. Day School will still include all the great things you’ve come to love, with no added charges or fees for these extras:

• • Lots of attention, with packs no larger than 15 dogs per human. 
  • Each dog will get structured rests throughout the day, mixed with play groups.
  • Each dog will get access to group enrichment activities like bubbles, agility games, gate manners and positive-reinforcement training basic obedience exercises.
  • Each dog gets a group walk, or a solo walk for puppies in Puppy Social School.
  • Each dog gets their very own birthday bash on their special day. 

We will be implementing a price increase for daycare services starting May 5, 2024. 

You may pre-purchase credits at the current price until then.

  • 10 Pack – $443

We will also be adding the option to purchase add-on enrichment sessions! Enrichment is a great way to work to meet your dog’s needs and tire them out mentally.

  • Individual Toy Play – $15

Additionally we will be offering 10% off all grooming services if you book grooming while your dog is at daycare!

Please note: Daycare days must continue to be pre-paid, but in order to streamline our processes and minimize room for error, we will no longer be able to accept e-transfer. You may continue to pre-pay for single days or packages at time of self-booking, or we can keep a credit or debit card securely on file in Busy Paws and charge as needed. 

Changes in pricing for a brand are never easy. However, this review is necessary to align with the economy while maintaining the integrity of our values and securing our sustainability for the long run.

This announcement is not made easily. I hope this early notice and clarity into our reasons help provide insight into the necessity of this decision. Your continued support truly means the world to us and our team.
