Grooming Updates 2024
Service Changes
We are pleased to announce that our Groomer Assistants Robyn Koch and Emily Bromley have completed a groomer training course and will be taking appointments on their calendars starting March 15, 2024.
Robyn and Emily will be available for the following services:
- Shave & A Haircut for small, medium and large dogs
- Scrub a Dub for all sizes of dogs
- Blow Out & Trim for all sizes
- Nail trims
- Puppy Practice Grooms
We are excited to offer increased availability to our clients with this change!
Brenda is moving into a Head Groomer position. She will still be taking clients and is overseeing process and quality for all grooming. Brenda will be available for booking the following services:
- Shave & A Haircut for all sizes (Head Groomer rate)
- Blow Out & Trim for all sizes
- Doods n’ Poods all sizes
- Cat grooms
- Nail trims
Vaccination Requirements
Due to changes in our processes, we will now be requiring proof of up to date bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations for grooming clients. This change will take effect immediately for all new clients, and by August 15th for existing clients.
We are implementing this change due to the fact that we now are usually servicing multiple dogs at one time, meaning they are together in the grooming and crate rooms increasing the risk of transmission of any disease. Please understand we do this with the health and safety of all our canine clients in mind.
We also strongly recommend all grooming clients be kept up to date on a flea/lice preventative.
Price Changes
In the pursuit of long-term sustainability for Barks and Recreation, we find ourselves in a position where we need to update our service prices. This adjustment is essential for several reasons:
- To ensure that our dedicated team receives fair wages, keeping pace with the rising cost of living.
- To continue infusing each groom with the time, care, and love that defines our craft.
- Our cost of supplies has increased, and we do not want to compromise the quality of the shampoos and products we are using.
We will be implementing a price increase on most grooming services starting March 15, 2024.
Changes in pricing for a brand are never easy. However, this review is necessary to align with the economy while maintaining the integrity of our values and securing our sustainability for the long run.
This announcement is not made easily. I hope this early notice and clarity into my reasons help provide insight into the necessity of this decision. Your continued support truly means the world to us and our team.
