Below is a customer video review of another name brand of the same product. It gives you a nice idea of the toughness and time it takes to completely chew the product.
What do you do when the chunk gets too small and you are worried about your dog choking on it? Throw it out? NO!
You can microwave the remaining chunk(s) for 20 seconds to create a lighter, air-filled, crunchy product that crumbles when chewed. No waste!
Hi
I just bought the large Everlasting Dog treat, it is so hard that my dog can not make a dent in the treat. When she dropped it, it broke in two like a hard plastic. After watching the video above I think this treat is dried out. I have paid $11.00 and wonder what I should do with this piece of hard plastic?
It is supposed to be hard and the dog needs to chew and crunch off small bits of it. If your dog did show interest in the product though, you could attempt to microwave it as shown in the video near the bottom of this posting, microwaving it as shown will infuse small air bubbles into the item and make it much more crumbly kind of like the inside of a Crunchie chocolate bar. Personally, I think microwaving it negates the usefulness of the product as the Everlasting Dog Treats are supposed to be a hard chew that helps dogs teeth and gums stay healthy and strong by chewing, chipping, and crunching on the small bits they break off of it.
If you purchased it from us we will take it back though as it can be too hard of a product for some dogs.
